Bhairasagara Lake is a perfect spot for day camping, offering a serene escape amidst nature. This expansive lake is located at the entrance to Gudibande, a city in the Chikkaballapur District, renowned for the historic Gudibande Fort. Situated approximately 90 km from Bangalore, near the Karnataka-Telangana border, Bhairasagara Lake provides a picturesque setting for a peaceful retreat.

This lake has many hidden spots around it, perfect for day camping. These areas offer ample space for 2-3 cars and camping tents, making it an excellent choice for family outings. You can cook and relax with the stunning backdrop of Bhairasagara Lake, creating memorable moments with loved ones. The lake remains full of water even during the summer, ensuring a refreshing environment year-round.

Tips to find the hidden spots at Bhairasagara Lake:

  • Drive early to the place before sunrise to have the best chance to find a perfect spot before it gets crowded.  
  • Drive around the lake to discover less-taken entry points away from the main access point. 
  • Explore the edges of the lake. Vegetation (thickly grown plants & bushes) might have crowned the pathway to these hidden spots.
  • Keep an eye out for off-road trails or paths that lead to more isolated parts of the lake, which might be ideal for parking and setting up a campsite
