Overview

The scenic Brahmagiri Range of Kodagu district, is a natural wonder, captivating visitors with its breathtaking beauty. Cascading gracefully through this beautiful range amidst the lush greenery is a waterfall which is Iruppu Falls. Iruppu Falls is also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls. 

This place is also considered as a sacred site, with devotees and pilgrims visiting a nearby Lord Shiva temple – Iruppu Rameshwara Temple, making it a holy place. During the festival of Shivaratri, this place is filled with prayers, sounds of bills, and the divine songs by the devotees which makes it no less than heaven. 

The best season to explore the place as a tourist, is during monsoon and post-monsoon seasons, as the beauty of the falls four holds. 

To reach Iruppu Falls, tourists can buy entrance tickets near Iruppu Rameshwara Temple. From the entrance, travelers are required to walk for around 15-20 minutes through the forest.

Timing and Entry Fee:

Open all Day: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Entry fee: ₹50 per person. Tickets are available at the entrances of Iruppu Rameshwara Temple
Parking fee: ₹10 for Vehicle Parking Fee (depending on the type of vehicle).
Excellent parking facility with a well-maintained surface. The parking lot also has toilet facilities.  

Tips for the Visit:

There are no lifeguards near the falls. So be at most cautious while near the waterfalls. The is a well lead pathway towards the waterfalls which is built with cement steps.
