Tosa Maidan, an area under J&K Tourism, was controlled by the Indian Army on lease until April 2014.The place has been open for visitors and trekkers for trekking and camping since then.
Camping at Tosa Maidan:
With open grassland and a vast sky makes this serene place a perfect spot for camping, whether day or night. Camping here is not less than an heavenly experience with stunning views of Harmukh Mountain, Kolahoi Peak, and the Nun Kun Peaks in the distance and the starry night here is out of this world. One can either book a camping venture or go camping on their own (boondocking).
How to Reach:
Tosa maidan is easily accessible from Srinagar in about 2 to 2.5 Hours. One can either take their own vehicles or hire a Taxi. To reach this spot, you can either take the route via Budgam Or the Srinagar-Gulmarg road.
Entry Fee: No entry fee
Timing: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Camping: Available for camping at any time. No restrictions on entry or exit times
Parking: No parking restrictions. Vehicles can park overnight. No designated parking spots; park anywhere within the area
Vehicle Access: Suitable for all types of vehicles, including RVs, trailers, cars, and bikes.
Parking Safety: Park at your own risk. Park in a manner that does not obstruct access or block others
